Illustrated Reports by Medico-Legal Experts
[308-309]

Murder victim, Frau Kempf.

Detail.

Frau Kempf, 25 years, murdered at Wiesenau, Hohensalza district.

Together with her were assassinated: her husband, 36 years,
her children Hilde K., 9 years old, and Helene K., 2½ years old,
furthermore the aged couple K., man and wife, aged 70 and 65 years respectively, and the farm-hand Theodor Dräger, 17 years,
altogether 7 persons.

Killed by pistol shot through cranium (marked a),
also smashing of [right] fourth and fifth finger
and complete absence of left ring-finger (marked b and c).

This is the case of a woman in the last stages of pregnancy
shortly before delivery of the child. Close to the body was found
the child almost completely delivered. Evidently it was not a case of
birth after the death of the mother, due to the effects of decomposition,
but the birth had obviously commenced during the death agonies.

[Scriptorium notes: Photo 2:]
Enlarged photograph of almost completely delivered embryo.
